Maruti Suzuki has introduced its best SUV new Grand Vitara in India. The company believes that it will improve its profile in the Indian car market’s SUV segment.

The 2009 version of Grand Vitara comes with a 2.4 litre petrol engine which delivers a maximum power of 163.5 bhp at 6000 rpm and a torque of 225 NM at 4000 rpm. The 2.4 L model of Grand Vitara will be available at a price between Rs.16.67 lakh and Rs.17.97 lakh. The SUV also comes in both Manual and automatic transmission.

The 4 wheel drive Grand Vitara 2.4 comes equipped with disc brakes in the rear wheels that provides power braking. Other features of the new 2.4 L Grand Vitatra includes Multi information display, 17 inch alloy wheels and centre speaker coupled with a 6-CD changer. The Multi Information Display wil provide almost all vehicle information like average speed, instantaneous fuel consumption, low fuel warning and cruising range. The new front grille and front bumper are designed to add style and give the vehicle a sleeker look.

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Mayank Pareek said in a statement.

The new model of Grand Vitara is designed with additional security mesures, style , reduction in noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels providing better comforts to the passenger than the earlier model. The compay is planning to sell 25 lakh units of new Grand Vitara across the world.
