Nokia offers to exchange Dodgy chargers

November 9th, 2009 oDx Leave a comment Go to comments

Nokia has started a charger exchange program, offering free replacements to anyone with a potentially dodgy charger.

Nokia recently found out a problem with their chargers with potentially shocking results. The problem apparently is that the plastic cover comes loose exposing the internal components.

Affected units include the AC-3E and AC-3U models, manufactured between 15 June and 9 August, and the AC-4U model, manufactured between 13 April and 25 October.

Theregister Reported.

Although Nokia branded, the chargers are manufactured by one of its third-party suppliers and it is thought that around 14 million units are in service.

Nokia has set up a dedicated website for those who wish to see if they need to send off for a new charger.
