Enemy of my enemy is my friend. Well Apple and Microsoft atleast thinks like this. Now google is becoming more and more powerful and the growth of this ad giant is dramatic. Microsoft and Apple are trying their best to make google’s growth slower.
“Apple (AAPL) is in talks with Microsoft (MSFT) to replace Google (GOOG) as the default search engine on its iPhone, according to two people familiar with the matter. The talks have been under way for weeks, say the people, who asked not to be named because the details have not been made public.”
BusinessWeek Reported.
If Apple decides to make this happen, then for sure it will be bad for google. But still Google have their own OS for Mobile. Why do you think google made their own OS for mobiles? And more over Google now have their own handheld device also(nexus One).
A small St. Louis-based organization by the name of Bing! Information Design is suing Microsoft for using the Bing name with their relatively new search (or decision) engine, Bing. Bing! alleges trademark infringement as well as unfair competition, claiming “Microsoft’s use of the name dilutes the value of it and confuses the public about the companies’ relationship to each other.” The design company has used the name since 2000 and has pending application for registration of The Mark.
The design company is looking for “actual and punitive damages including having Microsoft pay for corrective advertising to remedy the confusion it caused.” The actual monetary amount was not disclosed.
According to a Microsoft spokesperson, who spoke to Ars Technica, “We believe this suit to be without merit and we do not believe there is any confusion in the marketplace with regard to the complainant’s offerings and Microsoft’s Bing.”
The microsoft’s search service Bing, which holds the third position among the search engines went down for sometime today. It is actually challenger to the dominance of Google.
Of course microsoft people are busy trying to find out how can they dominate google, but something somewhere went wrong. And this is not supposed to happen for a good search engine.
“Visitors to Bing.com were getting a browser error message rather than a search bar. Service was down for at least 45 minutes before being restored around 7:10 p.m. PST.”
Reported Cnet News.
Microsoft acknowledged about this in their Bing twitter feeds. The full story about this is given @ HERE.
Yes Youtube is now coming with a real time comment search function.
Facebook and Twitter announced recently that they would be partnering with Microsoft’s search engine Bing to offer real-time search function. Google also linked up with Twitter to offer the same kind of service, though not in real-time.
The Youtube comment searching function is almost similar to the current Twitter search, complete with ‘trending topics’ showing most talked about subjects.
One of the obvious benefits of real-time search is the immediacy of news that can be sourced.
bottom Line: This competing behavior of internet market is making our life easier.
