Apple has done it again. A sexy performance beast. Here you can read about the latest iphone from apple Iphone 4S. This will not be a comprehensive guide for iphone 4s. Rather this post will be a quick look on the features of the new iPhone.

This iphone is equipped with one of the most powerful processor for a mobile device. A Dual Core A5 Chip. Apple says it can deliver upto 2 times the performance and 7 times the graphics compared to the previous version of iphone. Another thing to be noted is the power efficiency of this chip, giving it an excellent battery life.

IPhone 4s comes with the latest apple IOS, that is, IOS5.

Now this IOS5 has another awesome application comes out of the box, Siri. This is like a personal assistant. You can talk to it, you can ask questions, you can ask for suggestions etc. For example, you can ask it “Do I need an umbrella”? And Siri will check it there is any chances for raining and will tell you the answer accordingly. Now if you ask it “Are there any Good Italian restaurants here?” It will give you a list of Italian restaurants near to your current place. Its more like a personal assistant to you. Its like it has got a mind of its own.

It has got an 8 MP camera with video recording of 1080p is, full HD. One of the best camera ever in a mobile phone. The quality of the video and photos takes are just mind blowing.

You cannot just point out even one bad thing in this phone. This phone has everything.

Unlocking and Jailbreaking

As it has been recently released, the unlocks and jailbreaks are not available yet. The jailbreaks and unlocks are available for iphones till iphone 4. But not iphone 4s. There may be lots of people or websites offering thr unlocks, but in my opinion don’t just blindly beleive them.If there is an unlock/jailbreak it will most probably be available for free at iphone devs blog. So don’t be fooled for any websites which offer unlocks for iphone 4S phones.

Applications:

Like all iphones this version of the iphone also has applications in the apple store. You can get the applications downloaded using your apple store account. Millions of applications are there for downloading. Lots of them are free. So enjoy your iPhone.

Developemnt:
IPhone development is the same except a few differences because of the latest advancements in the IOS. But there are lots of tutorials on how to develop an application for iphone. If you haven’t started yet, I recommend trying it for once atleast. The future is iphone and Android as of todays status. So knowing how to code applications for them will be a great advantage. You can get the tutorials from the itunes university or try googling some terms like Iphone dev secrets, iphone develpment tutorials etc.

Now you can post your favorite iphone 3GS videos to twitter using the application provided by twitvid.com. While uploading the videos from iphone 3GS, the application shows the upload status bar so that we can know how much of the data is uploaded till that moment. And the major twist is that, the twitter users can start watching these videos even before it is uploaded fully. Whoa thats a good one.

For now this is a standalone application, but in the next few weeks other applications such as TwitterFon will be making use of TwitVid’s APIs to let users upload their videos. Also worth noting is that it can be installed on Apple hardware without video capability such as the original iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPhone 3G, however for obvious reasons it won’t let you record, or even upload any videos from these devices.

At last Apple admitted to iPhone 3gs overheating issues. They have added a warning about this in their support pages acknowledging that some iPhone 3G and 3GS indeed overheat.

According the reports received, overheating occurs in many various environments and some users have experienced a problem in which the back cover of the iPhone became discolored in under a week which can most probably be because of the heat issues.

The warning from Apple includes:

“If the interior temperature of the device exceeds normal operating temperatures, you may experience the following as it attempts to regulate its temperature: the device stops charging, display dims, and/or weak cellular signal.”

You should probably listen, if you don’t want the dreaded Temperature Warning screen:

This is not the next revolutionary phone from Apple as all of us expected. But of course there are lots of improvements like performance boost, the sharper camera with video, purportedly improved battery life etc etc.

So this phone is the one that you could probably wave in front your geeky friends more proudly.

It may feel like Iphone 3GS is just a simple upgrade to Iphone 3G. But the fact is there a bunch of advantages for this over Iphone 3G.Lets have a look at those advantages.

iPhone 3GS advantages over iPhone 3G:

• Noticeably faster performance
• Faster network speeds of HSDPA 7.2Mbps
• 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera with VGA@30fps video recording, touch focus with subject tracking, macro mode from as close as 10 cm
• Double the storage space – 3GS is selling in 16GB and 32GB versions
• Digital compass with automatic map orientation in Maps app
• Better audio quality (as recorded and analyzed in our office)
• Louder loudspeaker results (with performance gains primarily in music playback)
• Purportedly better battery life
• Oleophobic display coating supposed to make fingerprints easier to clean
• Voice Control, speaker independent. Can be use to call a phone number, play music by song/album/artist name, shuffle music
• Built-in support for Nike+ jogging system
• Text-to-speech feature called VoiceOver is included in the new Accessibility menu
• System-wide Screen Zoom is also included in the Accessibility men.

Now as we have discussed the advantages, lets see the disadvatages.

Main disadvantages of iPhone 3GS (OS disadvantages not counted here):

• The new iPhone 3GS lacks the same novelty factor as its predecessors – the lack of design changes is a turn-down
• 3 megapixel camera with limited feature set hardly cuts it for a high-end device
• There’s still no flash or hardware shutter key for the camera
• Despite the upgrade, battery life is still generally poor (2-year old iPhone 2G are still doing way better)
• No stereo speakers.
