2010 may see price cuts for PS3 and Xbox 360

According to what Video game industry analyst Michael Pachter said, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to receive price cuts again this year.

He said,

“The Wii enjoyed a $350 price advantage over the PS3 at launch, and a $150 advantage until September. Now, the gap has narrowed to $100, with the feature-laden PS3 a tempting purchase for prospective console households,” says Pachter.

“The holiday Wii sales boost was primarily attributable to a $50 gift card promotion offered by Wal-Mart; while we expect similar promotions at holiday next year, we expect the other consoles to be lower-priced by then, further eroding the Wii’s competitive price advantage.”

“It appears that piracy in Europe and some substitution of iPod Touch games has impacted DS software sales more than we expected, and we have adjusted our estimates for FY:11 to account for further pressure.”

Apple and Microsoft are in talks to make Bing the default search in iPhone

Enemy of my enemy is my friend. Well Apple and Microsoft atleast thinks like this. Now google is becoming more and more powerful and the growth of this ad giant is dramatic. Microsoft and Apple are trying their best to make google’s growth slower.

“Apple (AAPL) is in talks with Microsoft (MSFT) to replace Google (GOOG) as the default search engine on its iPhone, according to two people familiar with the matter. The talks have been under way for weeks, say the people, who asked not to be named because the details have not been made public.”

BusinessWeek Reported.

If Apple decides to make this happen, then for sure it will be bad for google. But still Google have their own OS for Mobile. Why do you think google made their own OS for mobiles? And more over Google now have their own handheld device also(nexus One).

How to: Avoid the delay in Windows Start Menu

At some point all of us might have noticed the delay occurs when we click on the windows start menu. And again the delay comes for each and every menu shown. I mean after clicking the start menu, if we click on the all programs menu, here comes another delay. Sometimes its ok for us. But not all the time. Sometime it may drive us nuts. There is no point in the delay other than the effect which is too small enough to notice.

So here I am going to explain how to avoid this delay. Yes Microsoft allows the computer geeks to customise it. We can even increase the delay. But  I am not recommending it.

So for decreasing the delay (if you are not getting the sleep without seeing the microsoft windows delay effet) or stop the delay from occuring we have to do a small tweak in the windows registry.

The default value is 400. Set it to 0 and the delay is gone, but it will be nearly impossible to move the mouse fast enough not to activate [All Programs] if you mouse over it in route to your final selection. It’s easy to train yourself to move the pointer to the right after clicking Start to avoid activating All Programs. Pick a number that suits your style and make the change, then test it until you find a good compromise between speed and usability.

[Start]>[Run]> [Regedit]>

Goto the registry key

Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\DesktopModify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below.

Data Type: String Value // Value Name: MenuShowDelaySetting for Value Data: [Default = 400 / Adjust to Preference]

Exit Registry and Reboot
