Nokia N97 mini now available in stores
Nokia Launches their newest touch screen mobile with Qwerty keyboard.
Nokia N97 mini makes its big debut in stores. With its stainless steel cues, the Nokia N97 mini is designed for style-conscious people who are active with social networks. The device features a tilting 3.2″ touch display, QWERTY keyboard and fully customizable homescreen. The Nokia N97 mini features same software with the Nokia N97 and will be in stores with an estimated retail price of EUR 450 before taxes and subsidies.
Nokia’s Press said.
Well the prize of the mobile is never expected to be like this. The normal n97 have 32GB memory while this mini version is having only 8 GB. Now I really doubt why one  will go for this mini version instead of the normal one. At least its having more memory.

Nokia sues Apple for infringement of Nokia GSM, UMTS and WLAN patents

Espoo, Finland – Nokia announced that it has today filed a complaint against Apple with the Federal District Court in Delaware, alleging that Apple’s iPhone infringes Nokia patents for GSM, UMTS and wireless LAN (WLAN) standards.

Nokia detailed ten patents in the case that relate to technologies “fundamental to making devices which are compatible with one or more of the GSM, UMTS and wireless LAN standards,” it said in a statement.

It claimed all Apple’s iPhone models shipped since the Cupertino-based firm debuted its popular device in 2007 infringed the patents.

The blog Post about this in nokia’s official website said’

“The basic principle in the mobile industry is that those companies who contribute in technology development to establish standards create intellectual property, which others then need to compensate for,” said Ilkka Rahnasto, Vice President, Legal & Intellectual Property at Nokia. “Apple is also expected to follow this principle. By refusing to agree appropriate terms for Nokia’s intellectual property, Apple is attempting to get a free ride on the back of Nokia’s innovation.”

Nokia 5800 xpress music goes 5800i XM

The US FCC website leaked a new version of the popular Nokia 5800. It’s called 5800i, but contrary to what the name suggests, it’s not a pure upgrade over the regular 5800 XpressMusic. There are no detailed specs yet, but as evident from the photos and the concluded tests, there are at least two differences.

Just by looking at the shots of the Nokia 5800i XpressMusic, there don’t seem to be any visual clues to what is different. A closer look at the 3 megapixel camera specs written on the back reveal a longer focus distance – 4.6mm as opposed to 3.7mm in the original model.

Now that may mean one of two things – either the camera has a more narrower field of view (it’s more zoomed-in in layman’s terms) or there’s a larger sensor hiding behind the Carl Zeiss optics there. The first suggestion doesn’t make any sense for a cameraphone, so the right answer is probably B). The Nokia 5800i XM has a bigger sensor and that’s here to fix one of the major disadvantages of the original – the poor camera results.

Check out the pics of OLD 5800 Xm and the leaked picture of Upcoming 5800i XM above. Click on the Pictures for getting a clear view of the camera details.

However for some reason, Wi-Fi has been left out of the new 5800i equation. Quite strangely, as we’re not really sure whether users would prefer better image quality over Wi-Fi.

The Nokia 5800i XpressMusic, of course, is probably far from its official announcement so we’d just have to wait a little bit longer to get all the juicy details. In the end things might take a turn for the better.

Nokia music store Now in India

After a long waiting now the nokia users from india can use the music store of nokia. But the problem is it is still in beta.nokia_logo And that means we can only hear a 30 minutes sample of the songs. And besides this we cannot even purchase the songs now.

The store was delayed over 6 months, and will remain in beta phase for the time being.

More importantly for Indian users, the store will carry a “large selection of Indian music across different genres, which included music in regional Indian languages as well,”

says Symbian Freak.

Also the nokia spokesperson added that

“The pricing mechanisms for India are currently being worked out.”
