How to Make Portable Utorrent

Portable utorrent means you can take the utorrent application along with all the settings wherever you want them. There could be more  useful things if we use portable utorrent.

It is for example easier to put a portable version of the Bit torrent client on a removable device so that it can be used on different computer systems without having to worry about settings and paths. Another reason could be to avoid leaving traces of uTorrent on a computer system. The torrent client uTorrent will place several files in the application data folder in Windows after installation.

For this just Create a folder with any name and copy utorrent to that folder. Now create an empty file with the name “settings.dat“.

uTorrent will recognize the file and start using it instead of the settings file located in the application data folders.

Please be aware that old settings are not carried over and that it is needed to configure the client again. All torrents will be missing at the first start as well. You can easily add them again by selecting the correct locations for new and finished downloads in the client. The software will then automatically recognize the new torrents upon restart, perform checks and start downloading them again.

Xbox Handheld is coming

According to Microsoft corporate vice president Shane Kim, speaking to Kikizo the hand hel version for Xbox can be expected in near future. and this will rival the PSP, Nintendo DSi and even the iPod Touch/iPhone.

“For us, it’s a matter of focusing on ‘when’, because if we chased after a mobile or handheld opportunity, we would not have the resources and ability to do things like… Project Natal. So we’ve chosen to focus on the living room experience from a hardware standpoint, if you will, but we’re building a service in Live that will… will extend to other platforms. No question about it.”

“So the question will be, how do we enter into that market – do we do our own device, do we create our own phone – that’s a question for the company itself – do we continue to go down the Windows Mobile path which is that path that we’re on today, etc, etc,”

says Kim.

This handheld is supposed to take aspects of Upcoming Zune HD. Also if this handheld have the phone part in it, it means a direct fight with the Apple and could force sony to come up with the long rumored PSP Phone.xbox-logo
