How to: Get subtitles for the movies you have

Many of you might have a large movie collection, which may be pirated versions or the legit versions. But still Subtitles can make a difference while watching a movie. Now even the top movie channels give subtitles for the movies they showing.

So if you don’t know what a subtitle means,

It is a textual version of a film or television program’s dialogue that appears onscreen.

So watching a movie with subtitles can help you to get all the dialogues even if you are watching a movie in a noisy environment. Selecting a subtitle with lip to dialogue synchronization can be a tedious task. And if you got a bad synch’ ed subtitle, then its better to avoid the subtitles and watch the movie without those.

Now there are lots of websites which offers you to download the subtitles. These websites contain a very large database of the subtitles for the movies of almost all languages.

Some of these website i have listed here,

Just go to this website and search the movie name you need subtitles for, and select the language you need. Then just look for the file name or file type of the movie file you are having for the film. Then download it. And rename it to match the name of the movie file name. The subtitles can come in many file formats, like .sub, .srt etc etc.

For example.

Lets say you have downloaded subtitles for the movie Transformers. And the filename of the movie you are having is “transformers.DvDRip – [2008].avi“. And the filename of the subtitle you have downloaded is “transformers.cd1.en.sub“. Now you have to rename the subtitle file as “transformers.DvDRip – [2008].sub“. And put it in the same folder where the movie file is located. Now if you play the movie in 123Player, VLC player, Media Player Classic, etc, the movie will start play back with subtitles.
