More Windows 7 themes added by Microsoft

Windows 7 already has a good batch of stylish themes and eye-pleasing wallpaper, and now Redmond has opened up its vaults and released new themes and wallpapers, some of them with sponsored partners.

Gearheads and greasemonkeys (the kind that aren’t into custom JavaScript/CSS tweaking) will probably dig the sponsored themes crafted by Ferrari, Ducati, Infiniti, and Porsche. Those looking to spruce up their desktop with frames from around the world can grab international themes from more countries than originally included in Windows 7’s Release Candidate packages.

The full-fledged themes are specific downloads for Windows 7 users, but anyone can grab the wallpapers from Windows 7’s Personalization Gallery for their system. Got another source for your newly-installed system’s theme? Tell us about it in the comments.

Google Chrome 3 beta is out

Google released a new beta version of their browser Google Chrome 3 beta. Not only is it speedier than ever, but they’ve also given the browser a little bit of design whimsy that we hope will bring some color and delight to your day.

According to Google:

“This new beta is fitted with a customizable New Tab page, an improved Omnibox and a few basic themes that allow you to deck out your browser with colors, patterns and images. We’ve also built HTML5 capabilities into this release, as well as a few other nifty technical improvements that will help Google Chrome make the most of your network connection.”

This beta release shows over 30% improvement on both the V8 and SunSpider benchmarks over our current stable channel release.

These are the latest themes available in google directory for Chrome. Currently themes are supported by only this beta version.
