Twitter – New feature for tweet notifications

November 5th, 2009 oDx Leave a comment Go to comments

Twitter is testing a new feature which displays the number of tweets in the users time line as new tweets are being tweeted since the last time the page is refreshed. This works in much the same way as the new tweet notification on the search page for a term. When you click the notification, the new tweets slide out in the same fashion as the search page.

Twitter said about this,

So if one of the folks you follow has tweeted since you loaded your homepage, you’ll get a little notice saying “1 new tweet” that, when clicked, will display the new content.

We think it improves the tweet consumption experience and hope to roll it out to everyone as soon as we can.
